Tara has been a photographer for 10 years. She has a journalism degree from the University of Minnesota, where she focused on film photography and photojournalism. Her classes inspired a love for black and white photography and a desire to capture candid, narrative moments, which informs her wedding photography style.

“I am deeply moved and fascinated by how quickly time passes and how life is full of emotion — complexity, humor, joy, loss. Making images feels like making time capsules, and the photographic process of witnessing and preserving memories will never not feel like magic.” Tara says.

When she isn’t photographing weddings, you can find Tara reading, writing, making dad jokes, singing to her cat children, tending to her houseplants, (mis)adventuring with her favorite humans, and studying for her sommelier certification.
